How do we ride the train? Purchase tickets online, over the phone or at our train station in Cedar Park. Before boarding the train, all passengers must pick up their tickets in the station office, Bldg A Suite 103, across from the boarding platform.

What is the difference between coach and lounge? Both the coach and excursion cars have a center-aisle with double seats on each side of the
aisle. The coach cars have no A/C or heat but do have windows that open and close, while the excursion cars do have A/C and heat.

The lounge cars have a combination of seating options, either in the open lounge area (tables and chairs or individual chairs) or in a private compartment. Private compartments must be booked through a ticket agent at 512/477-8468. The lounge cars have A/C, heat, and complimentary light snacks.

Is there wheelchair access? ASTA welcomes all passengers, including passengers with disabilities, and attempts to provide accommodations for all of its passengers. ASTA operates historic railroad equipment and the construction of the equipment limits accessibility. A wheelchair lift is available that can accommodate most wheelchairs and motorized chairs and lift these chairs and occupants from the boarding platform to the entry doors for the railroad cars. Entry doors maximum width is 24".

Limited wheelchair space is available on board. Please inform ASTA in advance of any special needs for a passenger and ASTA will attempt to make accommodations.

Do we need a reservation? Seats that have not been reserved in advance are sold at the station 90 minutes before train departure. Typically the climate controlled cars are sold out before the day of the trip. Reservations are recommended.

Can we bring food with us? Yes, you are welcome to bring a picnic. However, alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the train. The Concession Car also sells cold sodas, hot coffee and munchies.

Does the train run on time? We make every effort to depart and return on time, however delays are possible due to railroad traffic.
