Take a Historic Journey Aboard the Austin & Texas Central Railroad!
Owned and operated by the Austin Steam Train Association
Take a step back in time as you step on board our vintage passengers cars for a relaxing journey to the past. Our seasonal schedule offers options throughout the year. Enjoy the 66 mile round trip on our popular Hill Country Flyer, which includes a 2 and a half hour layover in Burnet for lunch and the ever-entertaining Burnet Gunfighters Association wild west shootout! Or hop on board the Bertram Flyer or the new Capital City Express for our shorter 3 hour adventure. Remember to check our Special Rides for not-to-be-missed theme adventures from our annual Day Out With Thomas (returning to Burnet in September 2015) to our always popular Murder Mystery and Wine Tasting rides. And for our youngest fans, the North Pole Flyer pulls into town in late November. We run primarily on the weekend, with a few weekday rides available in March, June, July, and August.
Our Alco diesel locomotive, the 442, takes the lead while our Southern Pacific steam locomotive, the 786, is being reassembled right here in our Cedar Park yard. We offer 4 classes of service in our passenger cars, from our P70 standard coach cars to our first-class lounge cars, so choose the class that's right for you.
Some rides do sell out in advance, so reservations are highly recommended. Walk up seats go on sale one and a half hours before each train departure, based on availability. Call 512-477-8468 ext. 2 to book a reservation. The reservation line is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Or book online anytime. All aboard!
