Fun on the Bertram Flyer!
Summertime is the perfect season for bringing your family to Cedar Park to ride the train!
Our historic railroad operates vintage passenger cars pulled by our 1960 Alco Engine on three hour journeys into the Hill Country every Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.
Kids of all ages on board the Bertram Flyer enjoy the sights and sounds of the railroad as we cross highways, span the South San Gabriel River, roll through pastureland and cross into the rocky tundra of the Texas Hill Country.
As a special bonus passengers on the Bertram Flyer can explore the 1912 train depot in Bertram that has been meticulously restored to it's authentic glorious past. Passengers can explore the old station agent's office and learn how it used to be done in years gone by.
We operate train excursions into the Hill Country every weekend year-round.
The trains are operated by the dedicated staff and volunteer crews
of the Austin Steam Train Association, a community-based non-profit
501(c)3 organization.
All our trains are pulled by our 1960 Alco Diesel-Electric locomotive (ATCX 442) while our 1916 steam engine, Southern Pacific 786, is restored.
