Classic Rides

Hill Country Flyer  

This popular train ride departs Cedar Park at 10:00am for a two hour journey through the Texas Hill Country to Burnet. Passengers can enjoy lunch and shopping at their own leisure during stopover. The Burnet Gunfighter present their wild west gunfight, weather permitting, at the train station in Burnet before the trains leaves at approximately 2:15 pm to return to Cedar Park. The Hill Country Flyer runs on a seasonal schedule and does not run during June, July and August. ALL SEATS ARE RESERVED AND ARE PRE-ASSIGNED.

Bertram Flyer  

Our shorter train ride follows the scenic route of the Hill Country Flyer, but stops at the historic 1912 train station in Bertram. Passengers may tour the depot during the 15 minute stop before reboarding for the return ride to Cedar Park. Our Bertram Flyer runs on a seasonal schedule so days/times of departure and return vary by the season. Please check the date ranges below for the seasonal schedule that interests you. ALL SEATS ARE RESERVED AND ARE PRE-ASSIGNED.

The Wine Flyer 
(January 27, 2013)

Who's ready for a Wine Flyer? Pilot Knob Vineyard, our friends just north of Cedar Park off of 183, are back and bringing their award winning wines with them. That paired with their hospitality that has helped to make them so popular will definitely make for a ride you don't want to miss! We will be serving up a delicious array of hors d'oeuvres and desserts to accompany the wine tasting. What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Limited availability is available for this train so book now. Ages 21 and up only please.

A rag tag bunch of bickering actors are trying to perform Hamlet. They're on tomorrow at the Paramount but will they be ready? Will they stop the infighting and bury the hatchet or literally bury the hatchet? Evening includes a box dinner and a whodunit mystery with the Capital City Mystery Players. The Mardi Gras Hangover Murder

Sweets & Spirits Wine Train

Come aboard for gourmet confections prepared by Austin area chefs, paired with local wines by Award Winning Pilot Knob Vineyard. Romantic night out, or girl's night out, this delicious event is not to be missed. Space is limited. 21 and up only please.

Spring Break 2013 
(March 12-14, 2013)

Ride with us on our spring break special Burnet Flyer! Take the train from our historic 1912 train depot in Bertram! The train ride is approximately one hour each way, with a two hour layover in Burnet. Enjoy lunch on your own and then return to the depot for the Burnet Gunfighters' Association wild west gunfight (weather permitting.) The train will arrive back in Bertram at around 3:00 p.m.

Bluebonnet Festival 2013 
(April 13 & 14, 2013)

The Hill Country Flyer makes a special departure to take passengers to the 26th annual Bluebonnet Festival in Burnet. Festivities on the square are an easy walk from the train depot. Mothers Day Flyer

Saturday Evening Express

Our historic railroad operates vintage passenger cars pulled by our 1960 Alco Engine on a two and a half hour journey to the town of Bertram. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the railroad as we cross highways, span the South San Gabriel River on the wooden trestle bridge, and roll through pastureland. Then step off in Bertram for our 15 minute layover to tour our fully restored 1912 train depot! It's a great Saturday evening outing for the family.

Summer Express 
(June 12, 2013)

Ride with us on our summer special, the Summer Express! Take the train, pulled by our 1960 Alco diesel locomotive, from our train depot in Burnet to the quaint town of Bertram! The train ride is approximately one hour each way, with a one and a half hour layover in Bertram. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of Bertram's restaurants or by bringing your own picnic lunch and enjoying the short stroll to the park Our historic 1912 train depot will be open for tours throughout the layover. Train returns to Burnet at around 2:00 pm.

Fathers Day Flyer

Princess Flyer

Step on board the Princess Flyer and enjoy a train ride to Bertram, tea and biscuits, and photo opportunities with our princesses. You are welcome to bring your favorite doll or stuffed animal friend along for the ride! We'll have a brief 15 to 20-minute layover in Bertram to tour our 1912 train depot, then return to Cedar Park.

North Pole Flyer 
(November 30, December 7, 8, 14, 15, 21,22, 2013)

The North Pole Flyer train returns bringing our train's own Christmas story to young and old alike! Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be on board the train, greeting all the children and giving each child a gift to remember the ride. This approximately 2 hour round trip does not stop and deboard as all events take place on board the train.
